The four-story office building welcomes visitors, members, and employees of the AmperVerband company in its modern premises. The entrance area of the partially glazed facade includes inclined, V‑shaped composite steel columns spanning two floors.
The entrance structure to Kleinwelka Dinosaur Park near Bautzen, Germany has a total height of 72 ft and resembles mitosis. Mitosis is a type of cell division and the origin of life. The bionic structure consists of 1,389 steel tube members assembled together at 269 joints.
The German Bundesgartenschau BUGA took place in Koblenz from April to October 2011. The gazebo, called "Echolot" (referring to the echo sounding used to measure distances), became a real crowd pleaser. The walk-in structure, consisting of approximately 6,000 members made of Douglas fir, was designed according to the principles of bionics.
Radoslav Dimitrov, a civil engineering student, took advantage of RSTAB when writing his paper, for which he analyzed a stadium roof. The object of the paper was to design a stadium for soccer matches and athletic sports events, offering space for an audience of 70,000 people. The framework of the roof is a tubular steel structure with 17,791 members in total.
The project for designing a filter/dryer device, including agitator, required a complete stress and deformation analysis in RFEM. The complex modeling of the structure, which had 1,424 surfaces, 158 solids, and 425 members, represented a special design challenge.
